Who is Kitty?

Kitty was born on April 1, 1915 in County Kerry, Ireland.

She was born a poor farmer’s daughter and lived the typical farm life working in the fields and tending to the animals.

She inherited the nickname Kitty at a very young age and was called that by all her close friends and family. As a young girl she loved to dance and found joy in the many Irish traditions and all that the Irish Heritage had to offer.

At the young age of 23 Kitty had her first of 3 children—two sons and a daughter.

Kitty’s husband left the family after the 3rd child was born leaving her to raise three small children on her own. She worked extremely hard every day just to feed her family and provide them with basic needs such as clothes and a roof over their head.

She suffered from severe heart trouble and asthma for many years but found the strength to endure life’s many challenges. Kitty passed away at the age of 42. She lived just long enough to see her children become independent self-reliant. Her job was done.

I have dedicated this website in memory of Kitty for being one of the best role models a person could have and for always placing her family’s needs ahead of her own.  My name is John and Kitty was my mother.

I hope you enjoy reviewing the many Irish gifts on this site. If you are in need of a product you do not see, I would be happy to find it for you.
